Summer Studio 2024

For CREATORS in grades 5-12 who seek more time “in the studio” this summer to grow skills in a student-centered environment.


Students will choose between a morning and afternoon session If a student is beginning in an area or grades 5-8, they should choose direct instruction sessions with a lead teacher. Experienced students, grades 8-12, can opt for Open Studio sessions. Open Studio is designed for students who are interested in practicing skills independently.

COST: $275 full day / $150 half day


Session 1: July 22-26

Session 2: August 5-9


9 a.m. – 11 a.m.  Morning Session

11:05 a.m. – 11:55 a.m.  Lunch

12:00 p.m. – 1:55 pm.  Afternoon Session

A.M. Session: Introduction to Ceramics (Handbuilding)

Students are introduced to basic handbuilding and learn proper construction, attachment and glazing techniques. Prepare to make functional and decorative pieces to treasure for years! No experience required!

P.M. Session: Introduction to Visual Journaling 

Journey to the world where personal reflection and art collide! Explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences through visual and written documentation. Visual Journaling is a rewarding and relaxing way to spend your summer! No experience required!

Ceramics (8th-12th)

Students with prior experience may have full use of Ceramics studio, including tools and materials.

Open Studio Art (8th-12th)

Students will have full use of Art studio, materials and tools to create 2D and 3D artwork. 

Portfolio Prep (8th-12th)

Advanced Art students may use the Art Studio spaces to create work and build their portfolios for college applications. You’ll get your own space for the week and full use of the studio and supplies!



A.M. Session: Introduction to Choreography & Audition Prep

Elevate your dance artistry and audition readiness with a workshop designed to enhance your skills, confidence, and performance. Learn and practice diverse pieces of choreography, tailored to mimic styles associated with auditions.

P.M. Session: Introduction to Technique & Audition Prep

Instructors will work on fine-tuning alignment, balance, flexibility, and the execution of dance steps, ensuring that each participant’s technique is polished to perfection. All levels welcome! 

OPEN STUDIO:  available A.M. & P.M. (Choose one)

Drills to Skills (8th-12th and ONLY A.M.)

Work on improving execution of technical elements by breaking down the skill into smaller components. Team Elite dancers will demonstrate and show participants how to “master” each step of the drill.

Portfolio Prep (8th-12th and available during A.M. and P.M.)

Need to record choreography/skills for a college or an AP portfolio but need space and another helpful eye to capture the best execution of movement? Advanced dance students may use the dance room to build dance resumes and portfolios.

Jazz Choreography (8th-12th and ONLY P.M.)

Learn what distinguishes jazz dance, from intricate isolations to the bold, dramatic movements that define its signature style. Gain insight into achieving the perfect balance between technique and flair, the importance of facial expressions, body language, and the art of conveying emotion through dance.


A.M. Session: Introduction to Ukulele and Drum Circle 

Learn to play the ukulele with an emphasis on technique, music reading, and strumming patterns. In addition, students will have opportunities to play drums and percussion instruments such as, Bongos, Congas, Tambourines, Shakers, Maracas, Djembes, AND MORE!! 

P.M. Session: Introduction to Songwriting

This course introduces students to the tools and techniques of songwriting and producing music. Diving into the concept of song structure, melodic design and development, lyric placement, and chord structure students will participate in a mock studio session to create a fully written song and a produced demo track.

Practice Rooms (8th-12th)

Designed for students looking for independent practice time for fun or for college audition prep. Bring your own instrument and playing materials or request repertoire for technique-related studies.

Contemporary Ensemble Jam Session (8th-12th)

Students will enhance their ensemble playing skills while also being able to collaborate with other musicians in their own space and format. Students will be able to pick from a selection of contemporary music, play alongside other musicians and learn the skills to improvise a solo. 

Audition Prep (8th-12th)

For students who want to practice the fundamentals of music theory to develop skills and techniques to feel confident and prepared for auditions.



A.M. Session: Audition Prep: All grades, all experience levels

Identify your goals as an actor, including exploring a variety of  audition material that aligns with your strengths and interests. Record yourself performing your audition material in a mock audition setting.

P.M. Session: Introduction to Musical Theater

Do you have an interest in musical theater and acting? We will focus on scenes from musicals and dive into emoting on stage, singing with purpose, making acting decisions and creating a character.

Independent Audition Prep (8th-12th)

An outline for structuring your audition prep independent study will be provided which covers recording, evaluating material and receiving feedback from instructor and peers.

Unchartered Characters

Students who are comfortable on stage, but want to take on the challenges of a new type of character will be given performance pieces of iconic musical theater characters and practice strategies to becoming that character on the stage.


A.M. and P.M. Sessions: Introduction to Esports

Step into the exhilarating world of esports with our introductory class designed to provide a comprehensive overview of competitive gaming. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to the scene, this course will let you experience the rapidly growing phenomenon of esports.

OPEN STUDIO:  available A.M. & P.M. (Choose one)

Independent Gaming (8th-12th)

Students can enjoy a session of game play of their choice, practicing current skills or learning new skills from peers.
