This junior/senior level program enables students to build on their understanding of health and skill-related components involved in the planning and implementation of a personal fitness program. Students develop the ability to design and assess personal fitness goals, and understand the relationship among physical activities, stress, and other health problems associated with inadequate fitness levels. Students develop an understanding of training principles related to exercise, apply safety practices associated with physical fitness, and exhibit a positive attitude toward lifelong physical activity and wellness. Students also receive an American Heart Association heartsaver certification in CPR/AED or first aid.
