Course Description

Students in this course develop an understanding of the various off-ice health components of figure skating essential to an athlete’s development: Nutrition, strength and conditioning, and personal development. They improve core strength and agility through off-ice exercises, which helps them execute better jumps and spins. Students work with a registered dietician to learn proper nutrition techniques to train at their very best, and also learn personal development skills to help with goal setting, self esteem, team building, and stress management. Students are able to apply the basic principles of each topic to their training programs.
