Course Description
The Mission of Jesus and the Church. This course focuses on the study of Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s plan in salvation history. Beginning with creation and the effects of sin on humanity’s relationship with God, students examine how God has reached out to humanity in order to draw us into relationship with God and each other. After His resurrection, Jesus left to the world a group of His closest friends, His disciples. This early group of Christians became the Church to lead us into a close relationship with God. Through Christ’s Church, as the People of God in the world and as an Institution, we can encounter Jesus most fully.
