Course Description
Physical Science is a course that provides an exploration of the scientific process through hands-on investigations focusing on the properties and changes in matter, forms of energy, and interactions of forces. There is considerable emphasis on the technological application of physical science principles. Essential concepts covered will include physical and chemical changes, organization and use of the periodic table, nuclear reactions, temperature and heat, sound, light, electricity, and magnetism, and work, force, and motion. The investigative process is central to this course with specific focus on the scientific method and experimental design. Students participate in activities requiring involvement in planning, research, and experimentation.
