Full-year or One-semester
Students explore a variety of dance skills, techniques, improvisation, and choreography from the following dance styles: Jazz, lyrical, classical ballet, contemporary, modern, social dance, and hip hop. Students participate in daily dance warm-up routines, learn about the skeletal, muscular, and cardiovascular systems, and their response to dance movements. The course provides baseline dance content, knowledge, and skills, allowing students to follow additional advanced coursework, or focus on dancing in a school setting for the first time.
