Course Description
This one semester course provides a complimentary class to Forensics 101. Students will be exposed to different techniques dealing with the application of scientific methods for the examination of physical evidence in the criminal justice system. This course will include the biological, chemical, and physical elements relevant to the field of forensic science. Topics to be covered may be hair and fiber analysis,handwriting analysis, explosives, as well as toxicology of drugs and alcohol. A component analyzing Constitutional Law and its application to Forensic Science as well as an introduction to Criminology and Victimology will be covered.
Due to the nature of this course, the photographs shown in this class are actual crime scene photographs. The photographs and the accompanying discussions are sometimes graphic and may be disturbing to some people.
