Christian Action Program - Juniors

Course Description

The main goal of CAP – I is to help students become aware of the active presence of God in their lives and in the world around them through the sacraments. Students will examine the sacramental nature of daily life, and explore the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church.

Additionally, throughout the year, students will begin to see themselves as SACRAMENT – “God’s presence in the world today,” by focusing on community service and developing their spirituality. Students will explore their relationship to God in prayer as they cultivate relationships in ministry to the elderly, to young children, and to those who are mentally and/or physically challenged.

Criteria for enrollment consists of a completed application and an evaluation by the Religious Studies Department. The Christian Action class can only be taken once, either as a junior or as a senior. Any student interested in participating in the Christian Action class as a junior must have an application on file by the due date during the sophomore year.
