2D Design

Course Description

This class introduces students to the elements and concepts of two-dimensional design. Assignments are generated to develop both a visual and verbal understanding of the principles of design, while allowing the student to practice setting up visual problems and investigating possible solutions. This class works both in the art studio and on the computer using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. This class introduces students to graphic design skills using the Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator computer program. Students experience the entire design process from idea development to finished product through this course, and study aesthetic awareness and the role of graphic design in everyday life.
