The Mount Saint Charles Hockey Legacy Fund is dedicated to supporting the newly launched U18, U16 and U15 hockey programs, enabling Mount to offer need and merit-based scholarships as well as facilities improvements and unexpected expenses. It is an endowed fund, awarding a maximum of 4.5% per year to ensure its continued support of Mountie hockey, in perpetuity .
Mount alum and former NHL star Brian Boucher got the fund off to a strong start, pledging $15,000. Our goal is an endowment of $100,000.
Alumni can donate through the Mount website, www.mountsaintcharles.org, or by contacting the school office at 401-769-0310.
“If all Mount hockey alumni contribute, we’ll reach our goal in time for the program’s first season in 2019-2020 and help our teams get off to a great start,” said President Alan Tenreiro. “National-level hockey will be a key element in Mount’s identity as we pursue our goal of becoming one of the top prep schools in New England.”
August of 2018 saw the launch of a new hockey program at Mount. Lead by a coaching triumvirate of Devin Rask, Matt Plante and Scott Gainey, (fresh off a 2018, U18 championship at Selects Academy of South Kent, Connecticut) Mount’s new coaching team aims to build a new hockey powerhouse at Mount. The Mount Saint Charles Hockey Legacy Fund is a great way for Mountie alumni to be a part of this effort.
