About the Excelsior Basketball Skills Development
Mount has partnered with It’s Possible Basketball to provide an innovative opportunity for grades 6-12 to supplement their individual and team-based on-the-court skills during the school day. Similar to our Sur La Glace Figure Skating program, the Excelsior Basketball Skills class allows for valuable supplemental training time, can cut external training and coaching costs, eliminates daily travel, and creates time for extracurricular activities so that Mount students can be more than athletes.
How does the basketball skills class work?
Students will receive training time with It’s Possible Basketball coaches as an elective class opportunity during the school day. These training sessions are run by experienced trainers to provide students the time and opportunity to work in small groups and one-on-one settings that focus on their individual needs. Small group training like this takes students to new levels and lets them progress at their own pace.
In addition, eliminating travel between school and training gives students more time for music, arts, clubs, after school sports, additional academic help, and other extracurricular pursuits.

All Ages Training
This class allows studnts of all ages and experience levels to receive training designed to fit their individual needs. There is a program fee tied to this opportunity that can be found on our Tuition & Fees page.
Beyond the Classroom
Opportunities to continue development outside of the classroom will be offered. Students will be invited to participate in tournaments, showcases, and camps to continue to build skills. Participants will have access to guest coaches, as well as development guidance from former college and professional players.
