Mountie Athletics. Mountie Pride.
Champions on and off the field

Nationally recognized, competitive school sports for everyone
At Mount we promote education-based athletics at both the middle school and high school level, teaching value through sports. Being part of a team can help every student building themselves as an athlete, as a student, and as a well-rounded person.
We promote excellence in what we do on and off the playing field, but we also promote participation. While some teams do have limited rosters, many of our teams welcome ever student who is willing to work hard, learn, and wants to be part of a team.
Student-athlete Mounties are part of championship teams on the local, state, and national level, and the leadership and teamwork they learn stays with them as they move into a wider world after graduation.

Athletic Facilities
Our teams practice and play in excellent on-campus and community facilities. The gymnasium, ice arena, tennis courts, baseball and softball field, and soccer and lacrosse field are located on campus. The six-lane Woonsocket High School track and the Woonsocket YMCA pool host the outdoor track and swim teams.
We’ve continued to make investments in our athletics program, as made evident by the gymnasium’s upgraded new oak floor, unveiled in 2017, and the new plexiglass barriers installed at the ice arena in 2018, and we have raised funds to add a weight training room to the athletic facilities.

A message from the Athletic Director
I came to Mount Saint Charles as a shy and unassuming 9th grader in the fall of 1996. Going about my classes, making it through the school day became the norm and a bit monotonous as the school year began. It was not until the winter of that year that I found my true calling – and why I have never left Mount.
Becoming a member of the basketball team, gave me goals and a purpose, and my teammates quickly became friends, many of whom I still talk to to this day! Never in my wildest dreams did I think that my decision to play basketball here at Mount would change my life and help me understand how important being part of a team and a community can be.
With so many athletic opportunities here, there is a place here for every student. Our goal is to have every student reach his/her own level of greatness. I believe participating in school sports can make a difference in every student’s life. Playing sports for your school and wearing the Mount colors will instill in you Mount Pride that myself and many others have had the chance to feel!
Once a Mountie, Always a Mountie!
