8th Grade Mounties are Finalists in a URI Essay Contest!

Congratulations to six of our eighth graders who were among the top 22 finalists in the 2014-2015 8th Grade RI Gandhi Essay Contest sponsored by URI's Multicultural Center! Their essay was based on the following quote: "If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children." ~Gandhi

They addressed these topics in their essays - 1. What the quote means to them; 2. ways schools can "teach real peace in this world"; 3. how they think their generation can "wage a war against war."
