Career Awareness

We need your help!

Career Awareness is a program sponsored jointly by the Guidance Department and the Alumni Office. The goal is to present ninth and tenth graders information about various professions from those who practice it. Students choose several areas of interest and are then matched with the appropriate professionals for each Career Awareness session.

For the past several years, we have relied on alumni and parents to make those presentations. We generally sponsor programs three times during the school year and the presentations are always during the first period of the day (8:05 – 8:55 am). Our guests present to a class of thirty students and talk about their careers, college and professional backgrounds, typical work days, and offer advice related to pursuing a particular career. Most presenters leave time for questions and answers.
